Minor Takes Over Management of Two Hotels in Sri Lanka

Dark/Light Mode (05/06/24)  Minor Hotels recently signed an agreement with Softlogic Holdings for two hotels in Sri Lanka, one which has just opened in the capital city of Colombo, whilst the other in the beachside town of Bentota will open in July.

The deal marks the introduction of the NH Collection and NH Hotels & Resorts brands in the country.

The NH Collection Colombo Hotel was officially rebranded from the Mövenpick Hotel Colombo on 1 June.

The property is located in the heart of the city, steps away from Liberty Arcade and the Indian Ocean, and within a 10-minute drive of the National Museum, Independence Square and Pettah Market.

Sri Lanka’s main airport, Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), is a 45-minute drive from the property.

The hotel boasts 219 rooms and suites ranging from 33 to 254 sqm, including one of the city’s largest Presidential Suites. All rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows providing expansive views of the Indian Ocean or city.

Facilities include six F&B outlets, including a rooftop bar; a choice of meeting and event spaces; a gym; rooftop infinity pool; and a spa.

Ninety minutes south of Colombo along the island’s west coast, the NH Bentota Ceysands Resort sits between the Bentota River and the Indian Ocean.

The 166-key property, which currently operates as a Centara resort, is scheduled to be rebranded on 1 July.

Facilities include an expansive beach-facing pool, spa, fitness centre, kid’s club and five F&B outlets.
