Sabre to Upgrade Japanese Hotel Company's
Distribution and Retailing Strategy
(10/04/24)
Onko Chishin, an innovative Japanese hotel
company, has signed an agreement with Sabre to use its SynXis
Booking Engine and Retailing solutions.
Founded in February 2011, Onko Chishin’s portfolio
currently consists of ten hotels and two restaurants, including
the recently opened Champagne-themed ‘Cuvee J2 Hotel Osaka by Onko
Chishin’.
Upcoming projects include ‘Miyama Cafe PUUT' in
Okayama’s Miyama Park which will open this month, and the group’s
first luxury hotel condominium, ‘Hotel La Vigne Hakuba by Onko
Chishin’ in Nagano’s Hakuba Village which is scheduled to open in
December 2024.
“As ‘A little evangelist of light in the
community’, we operate the ‘by Onko Chishin’ hotel brand with a
strong sense of commitment. Building a reservation engine that
reflects the brand image itself and, furthermore, selling all
facilities on a single page was a significant factor in choosing
Sabre SynXis technology,” said Hiroko Arai, Global Marketing
Director. “By harnessing the power of SynXis Booking Engine,
SynXis Retailing, and Sabre’s comprehensive distribution suite, we
aim to redefine the travel experience for our customers, providing
them with greater personalization than ever before, and ensuring
that increased numbers of global guests can enjoy the unique
personalities of our properties and the communities in which they
are based.”
In addition to the SynXis Booking Engine and
SynXis Retailing, Onko
Chishin will join Sabre’s Global Distribution System (GDS) to
reach hundreds of thousands of travel agents and guests globally
and will also use Channel Connect to simplify and
automate distribution to nearly 600 Online Travel Agency (OTA)
channels.
“Onko Chishin has such beautiful, unique
properties, each with their own identities and experiences so
we’re thrilled that this agreement will further grow Sabre’s
presence in the Japanese marketplace while enabling Onko Chishin
to reach a vast global audience of agents and potential guests,”
said Frank Trampert, SVP & Global Managing Director Commercial,
Sabre Hospitality. “By using SynXis Retail Studio, they can bring
their hotel policies, services, and experiences – whether that be
ordering a particular bottle of Champagne or fishing with
cormorants – into the heart of their booking processes, enabling
truly personalized experiences for guests. Couple that with our
distribution technology which will enable them to be found and
selected by agencies and their travellers worldwide, and Onko
Chishin has a powerful proposition for future growth.”
