United Airlines to Resume San Francisco - Hong Kong Flights in March

(04/01/23) United Airlines has confirmed that it will resume daily nonstop flights from Hong Kong (HKG) to San Francisco (SFO) on 6 March 2023, the first United passenger flight service to and from HKG since the global COVID19 pandemic began in 2020.

The first westbound flight from SFO to HKG will depart on 3 March 2023.

Flight UA862 us scheduled to leave HKG at 12:20 daily, arriving at SFO at 08:45 the same day. The return flight, UA877, is timed to depart SFO at 22:40 daily, arriving at HKG at 06:00 two days later.

United will operate the flights with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft offering 60 seats in United Polaris business class cabin, 24 seats in the United Premium Plus cabin and 266 seats in the United Economy cabin.

“We’re thrilled to be able to return to Hong Kong after nearly three years enabling us to provide our Hong Kong customers with our convenient daily nonstop service to San Francisco again,” said Walter Dias, United’s Regional Director of Sales for Greater China, Korea and Southeast Asia. “Our early-morning San Francisco arrival time and late-evening San Francisco departure time will offer more than 70 one-stop destinations in the mainland U.S., Canada and Latin America via our hub in San Francisco. We have nearly 40 years of long history in the Hong Kong market and our commitment to the market remains unchanged.”

San Francisco is United’s largest hub airport on the U.S. West Coast and a gateway to Asia-Pacific.

The airline operates more than 200 daily departures from San Francisco International Airport, taking passengers to more than 100 destinations around the globe, including the most international service with flights to 26 different international cities.

The hub currently offers direct flights to more than 10 Asia-Pacific destinations including Auckland, Brisbane, Haneda/Tokyo, Incheon/Seoul, Melbourne, Narita/Tokyo, Papeete/Tahiti, Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney and Taipei.
