Pegasus Airlines Adopts Three SkyBreathe
Solutions
(23/11/23)
Pegasus Airlines, a Turkish low-cost carrier,
has adopted three SkyBreathe solutions - 360°, MyFuelCoach
and APM - to help the company reduce fuel costs and CO2 emissions
from flights whilst also enhancing fleet maintenance and usage.
Developed by OpenAirlines, the SkyBreathe 360°
eco-flying platform uses
sophisticated algorithms, machine learning and artificial
intelligence to analyze data from each flight
and provide actionable insights, allowing airlines to enhance fuel
efficiency strategies and reduce consumption.
Pegasus has also chosen to
use SkyBreathe MyFuelCoach to further support its pilots in this
initiative.
MyFuelCoach, a mobile application, will empower pilots
with data they can use to make more informed flight decisions, track their performance and self-discover areas to
optimize operations and efficiency.
With a fleet now reaching
105 aircraft, Pegasus has also decided to adopt SkyBreathe APM
which will enable maintenance teams to monitor individual aircraft performance
as well as the entire fleet’s health, receive notifications about unusual
deterioration, identify root causes, and take corrective action.
"We are delighted to announce our partnership with
OpenAirlines and the adoption of the SkyBreathe platform," said Güliz Öztürk, CEO at Pegasus Airlines. "This partnership reflects
our determination to leverage advanced technology to enhance our
fuel efficiency and operational practices while contributing to
our 2050 Net Zero emissions target and our numerous initiatives as
we continue Moving Towards a Sustainable Future."
This partnership marks a significant
milestone in the airline’s ongoing efforts to enhance its fuel
management program. By joining the SkyBreathe Community, which
today has
more than 60 airlines using the platform,
Pegasus is demonstrating its commitment to being at the
forefront of the global transition to more sustainable aviation
practices.
"The addition of Pegasus in the SkyBreathe
Community is a proud moment for us," said Alexandre
Feray, CEO at OpenAirlines. "Their decision to embrace three
solutions from the platform showcases their commitment to unite
everyone in the airline over a shared mission to maximize company
fuel savings and reduce the environmental impact of their flights. In 2022, SkyBreathe successfully
saved 1 million tons of CO2, showcasing its remarkable ability to
propel change within the industry. With our tools, Pegasus
Airlines can confidently achieve considerable cost and CO2
savings, further contributing to a more sustainable aviation
future.”
