New Zealand
(17/08/23)
Accor has signed an agreement with Sarin Hotels
to open a second Sebel hotel in Wellington, New Zealand.
Located at 172 Thorndon Quay in Wellington’s
central suburb of Piptea, The Sebel Wellington Thorndon is
scheduled to open in September 2023, and follows The Sebel
Wellington Lower Hutt which opened in May.
The Sebel Wellington Thorndon will be managed by Sarin
Hotels.
The nine-storey serviced
apartment hotel is located next to Wellington’s Sky
Stadium, within walking distance to the city’s major
government offices and embassy districts.
The hotel features 72 rooms,
including a selection of studio apartments and one bedroom
apartments, as well as secure onsite car parking.
The Sebel Wellington Thorndon is the third hotel
that Sarin Hotels has partnered with Accor on in New Zealand,
following the success of ibis Styles Invercargill and The Sebel
Wellington Lower Hutt.
Udai Sarin, CEO of Sarin Hotels, said,
“We are excited about the opportunity to once again collaborate
with Accor. The partnership allows us to bring a new level of
sophistication to the heart of the city, enhancing our guests'
experience with the exceptional standards that Accor is well known
for. The union of our local expertise and international support
system means our customers can also take advantage of Accor's
global distribution and loyalty network, creating a distinctive
offering that caters to both leisure and business travellers.”
The Sebel Wellington Thorndon is
Accor's fourth Sebel hotel in New Zealand and joins more than
30 The Sebel properties across Australia and New Zealand.
Sarah Derry, CEO of Accor Pacific, said, “Trusted brands
like The Sebel, bring quality and credibility to the serviced
apartments sector which has been rapidly growing in popularity.
The signing of The Sebel Wellington Thorndon is part of Accor's
ongoing commitment to expanding our portfolio of hotels in New
Zealand, with a focus on providing guests with high-quality
accommodation and exceptional service.”
