SAS Opens Reservations on Historic First Commercial Electric Flight

(01/06/23) Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will open seat reservations for its first-ever commercial electric flight in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, at 12:00 CET on 2 June 2023.

Thirty seats are available for reservation on each of the three inaugural flights, which are expected to take place during the course of 2028.

Only a maximum of two seats per reservation and person will be allowed. The price will be 1946 kr.  including  fees and taxes will need to be paid 30 days prior to the date of the flight. There are no fees for the reservation and the departure date and place of departure will be communicated once confirmed.

The ticket price for the inaugural flight is a tribute to the year when SAS first started flying, 1946.

In 2019, SAS partnered with Airbus to explore the use of low and zero emission commercial aircraft and also with Heart Aerospace to drive the development of electric aircraft.

In September 2022, SAS signed a letter of support with Heart regarding the possibility of adding its new electric ES-30 aircraft to its regional fleet.
