Teardrop Enters Luxury Villa Market with Two
Properties in Galle Fort, Sri Lanka
(14/06/23)
Teardrop Hotels’, a Sri Lanka-based hospitality
company, has entered the luxury villa rental market with Teardrop
Villas.
The first villas in the portfolio are the iconic 41 and 42 Lighthouse
Street villas, located in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage Site
Galle Fort.
Once voted by UK Tatler as Galle’s ‘sexiest’
villa, 41 Lighthouse Street is a three-bedroom
villa which can accommodate a maximum of 7 guests.
Having
undergone a 3-year renovation, the two-floor villa features one of
the largest swimming pools in the area, and an intimate base from which to explore Asia’s only
living fort.
Originally the home of an 18th century Dutch
merchant, 42 Lighthouse Street is a grand four-bedroom villa
complete with elegant living spaces curated for an intimate and
stylish holiday which can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests.
Highlights include watching the world go by on the veranda, or
heading upstairs to the sky terrace for sunset
views over the Galle Fort ramparts and Indian Ocean.
Like the rest of the Teardrop Hotels portfolio,
both the villas showcase the best of historic Sri Lankan
architecture, modern interior design and the unobtrusive
service one would expect with a luxury private villa rental.
“We are thrilled to have launched
Teardrop Villas with two stunning properties which are close to
our hearts,” said Henry Fitch, CEO of
Teardrop. “We've seen a growing trend in families that are
looking for exclusive use villas in the south, and 41 and 42
Lighthouse Street fit the bill perfectly. These two villas are
just the beginning of a collection of holiday homes that will
stand out and elevate the luxury villa experience in Sri Lanka. We
believe that this collection will also bring the most unique and
memorable experiences to friends or families travelling through
Sri Lanka together.”
Teardrop Hotels' portfolio includes Lunuganga, the country estate of Geoffrey Bawa, Wallawwa, a centuries-old manor house converted to a
stylish, boutique hotel near the island’s international airport,
the magical Fort Bazaar in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage
Site of Galle Fort.
Kumu Beach, a 10-bedroom beach hotel
20km North of Galle and a collection of ‘Tea Planters’ bungalows
near Dickoya, Nuwara Eliya, Ella and Kandy.
Acclaimed for their
contemporary take on centuries-old heritage buildings and vintage
tea bungalows with views in distinct regions across the island,
Teardrop’s luxury hotels in Sri Lanka are defined by each
destination and encourage guests to explore, experience and shape
your own Sri Lanka story.
