Tim Toerber Joins Assaia as Vice President of
Business Development - Americas
(13/09/23)
Assaia, a leader in AI-enabled turnaround
management, has appointed Tim Toerber as Vice President of
Business Development - Americas.
With over 20 years of experience in the aviation
field, Tim's passion for aircraft began during his studies in
aeronautics and technology at the University of North Dakota.
Following his education, he served in the US Army
and after leaving active duty military service in 2014, Tim
combined his passion for public service and aviation to join the
Port of Seattle in managing Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
(SEA).
There, Tim helped SEA grow from the 16th to the
8th busiest airport in the USA by optimizing resource utilization
and implementing new technology to expand the operational capacity
of the airport’s limited footprint.
As an operations leader at SEA, Tim implemented
many new efficiency and technology solutions, including airport
resource optimization tools, advanced visual docking guidance
systems for automated aircraft parking, and Assaia’s AI-enabled
turnaround optimization solution, Apron AI.
In 2022, Tim joined Amazon Air, one of the fastest
growing air cargo operations in the world. At Amazon, Tim served
as the Senior Program Manager for Airport Affairs and Operations
Strategy where he was the business’s voice with airports across
North America, building airport partnerships, completing real
estate deals, and implementing operations strategy initiatives.
“It is an important time for the industry, with
passenger numbers set to exceed pre-COVID levels very soon, which
will put increasing pressure on resources and infrastructure.
Airlines, airports and ground handlers need to find all the
efficiency gains they can and the turnaround is an obvious
target,” said Max Diez, Assaia CEO. “Assaia is looking forward to
the valuable contributions Tim will bring to the company as Vice
President of Business Development - Americas. Together, we are
poised to shape the future of aircraft turnaround management and
usher in a new era of efficiency and innovation within the
aviation industry.”
Tim enjoys giving back to his community and serves
on the Tacoma Narrows Airport Advisory Commission, is a member of
the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor, and a board member of the Rotary
Foundation.
