Cross Hotels & Resorts has appointed Evan
Burns as Country Manager - Indonesia.
For the past 4 years Evan has been working as
General Manager of the Away Bali Legian as well as Area Manager
for Indonesia and Japan.

He has been instrumental in signing new management
agreements for Tanadewa Resort & Spa Ubud by Cross Collection,
Tanadewa Villas & Spa Nusa Dua by Cross Collection, and more
recently
Away Lombok Mandalika & Amber Lombok Beach Resort by
Cross Collection.
Evan has also extended the company footprint in
Japan with the 2021 opening of Away Okinawa Kouri Island Resort, a
tropical paradise resort overlooking the emerald green seas of
Okinawa and the jewel in the crown for Cross Hotels & Resorts
Japan.
Harry Thaliwal, CEO of Cross Hotels & Resorts,

leader and mentor to his team. He leads all operations from the
front, ensuring our guests are exceptionally well looked after. He

Originally from Australia, Evan's career in
hospitality started in Melbourne in 2003 as a Food and Beverage
Attendant with Westin. From there he joined Sheraton and in 2012
moved to Fiji as Complex Rooms Division Manager.
He first moved to
Indonesia in 2013 as Director of Rooms & Residences at the Keraton
at The Plaza, a Luxury Collection Hotel Jakarta before being
appointed Interim GM from May to August 2015.
Evan next moved to The Trans Resort Bali where he
worked as Resort Manager for two years before joining Living Asia
Resorts in Lombok as Complex General Manager, his last position
before joining the Away Bali Legian as General Manager in 2019.
