Saudi Arabian Airlines has launched direct
flights between Jeddah and Barcelona, Spain.
The service has been launched in partnership with
The Air Connectivity Program, an initiative created to support the
development of the Saudi tourism sector in alignment with the
Kingdom’s objectives of Vision 2030.

In collaboration with the
program, newly established flight routes between the Kingdom and
Zurich have already been established, with two additional routes
expected to be announced at a later date.
Sultan Otaify, VP Strategy and Communication of
The Air Connectivity Program, said, “This exciting partnership
with Saudia enables the Kingdom's air connectivity and capacity,
providing better air travel access to tourists and support the
Kingdom in realizing its ambitious tourism objectives.”
After seasonal operations, the route will become a
scheduled twice weekly flight from 30 August 2022.
Flight SV0229 is scheduled to take off from Jeddah
every Tuesday and Saturday at 10:20, arriving in Barcelona at
14:50.
The return leg, flight SV0228, is timed to leave
Barcelona at 16:10, landing in Jeddah at 22:35.
Essam Akhonbay, Saudia’s VP Marketing &
Product Management, said, “This collaboration benefits Saudia’s
strategic objective of bringing the world to the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia. The direct scheduled flights to and from Barcelona all
year round will increase the tourism and business traffic between
the two destinations.”
