AirAsia X (AAX) has appointed Tunku Dato’ Mahmood
Fawzy (63) as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective
immediately.
Tunku Fawzy is currently an
Independent Director of AIA General Berhad, Hong Leong Asset
Management Berhad as well as Deutsche Bank (Malaysia) Berhad where
he is also Chairman.

He has over 30 years of
working experience in investment, oil and gas, corporate finance
and more, starting his career as a foreign exchange analyst with
NCR UK and later joining Svenska Handelsbanken, London as a
Risk Analyst.
In 2002, he was appointed as the Managing Director
and CEO of Engen, an integrated oil company in
South Africa, a subsidiary of Petronas. He was appointed as a
Non-Executive Director of the South African Petroleum Industry
Association (SAPIA) and joined Khazanah Nasional Berhad in May
2007, retiring as Executive Director, Investments, in May 2010.
Tunku Fawzy was also previously a board member of
Malaysia Airports, Hong Leong Assurance, Hong Leong
MSIG Takaful, SapuraKencana Petroleum, Hong Leong
Islamic Bank, Pos Malaysia, Executive Solutions and
Outcomes, Ethos Capital One, and Federation
of Investment Managers Malaysia, Energy Africa Limited.

Tunku Fawzy
graduated from Warwick University in England with a Master of Business
Administration and a BA (Hons) Business Studies from the
Polytechnic of Central London.
