Emirates has confirmed that its iconic Airbus
A380 aircraft will resume flights to and from Auckland and Kuala Lumpur,
effective 1 December.
The airline currently operates
a linked Boeing 777-300ER service, which makes a stop in Kuala
Lumpur before continuing on to Auckland. With the resumption of A380 flights, both cities
will be delinked and served with direct services to
and from Dubai.
At a distance of 14,200 km, the non-stop service between Dubai and Auckland
will also reclaim its title as the longest route on the Emirates
network, in addition to being one of the
world’s longest non-stop scheduled commercial flights.
