Accor has signed a cooperation agreement with
Lumiere to open the first ibis hotel in Tashkent, the capital city
of Uzbekistan, in 2023.
The deal is the second joint project between the
companies, with Mercure Tashkent scheduled to open later this
year.

The ibis Tashkent hotel will occupy a new six-storey
building on Shota Rustaveli street, close to Mercure Tashkent as
well as popular attractions such as Chorsu
Bazaar, Eski Shahar Old Town and the Magic City family theme park
which has rides,
a playground, cinema, bowling alley, aquarium and food court.
The hotel will feature 150 rooms, a bar,
restaurant and a variety of meeting and event spaces.
Tashkent's
airport and central railway station are a 6-minute drive from the
hotel and the metro station is within walking distance.
"The popularity of Uzbekistan as a tourist destination
has been growing steadily in recent years," said Alexis Delaroff,
COO of Accor New East Europe. "The ibis brand is one
of the most recognizable and beloved in the Accor portfolio and we
are confident that the new ibis in Tashkent will contribute to the
city's popularity among international travelers."
