Oman's SalamAir has launched flights between
Muscat and Bursa, a large city in the northwest of Turkey.
SalamAir will fly to Bursa thrice weekly on
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Flights are scheduled to take off from Muscat at
10:05 and arrive at Bursa at 14:05 local time. The return leg is
timed to leave Bursa at 14:50 and arrive in Muscat at 20:30.
Bursa is SalamAir’s third destination in Turkey
after Istanbul and Trabzon.

"The charming city of Bursa offers
many tourist attractions from adventure, sightseeing to shopping
and the pleasant weather offers a holistic and enjoyable experience,"
said Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir. "We continue to be highly committed to our
expansion plans in promoting Oman and achieving our goals in
meeting Oman Vision 2040 while continuing to connect the network
better and add more direct routes to new destinations. We are in
the process of adding more aircraft to the fleet to serve more
destinations and increase frequencies."
In 2021, more than 150,000 foreign tourists visited Bursa despite travel
restrictions caused by the global COVID19 pandemic.
In ten years, the
number of Omani tourists visiting Turkey has increased immensely.
There were only around 5,000 visitors from Oman in 2010, whereas
last year around 50,000 people from Oman visited the country. Just
before COVID19, around 90,000 Omanis would visit Turkey annually.
SalamAir flies to the following domestic destinations: Muscat, Salalah,
Suhar. International destinations include: Alexandria, Bahrain,
Baku, Bursa, Chattogram, Dammam, Dhaka, Doha, Dubai, Istanbul,
Jaipur, Jeddah, Karachi, Kathmandu, Khartoum, Kuwait, Lucknow,
Medina, Multan, Phuket, Riyadh, Shiraz, Sialkot, Tehran, Trabzon
and Trivandrum.
SalamAir also flies directly from Suhar to Shiraz
and Salalah, and from Salalah to Calicut.
