Macao Reports Upswing in Visitor Arrivals
|
Macao has reported an upward swing in the number of
visitor arrivals the SAR welcomed in recent days.
A total of 191,828 visitor arrivals were
registered between 9 and 15 April, with an average daily
volume of 27,404 visitors, an increase of 111.7% when compared with
the average daily number of visitor arrivals during the Spring Festival
Golden Week (12,947).
In addition, Macao welcomed 34,252 visitor
arrivals on 16 April (Friday), the highest daily record of visitor
arrivals since the start of the pandemic.
Hotels saw
an average occupancy rate of 61% between 9 and 15 April, a rise
of 12.7 percentage points compared with that of the Spring
Festival Golden Week (48.3%).
As the pandemic situation remains
stable in Mainland China and Macao, the Macao Government Tourism Office
has seized the opportunity brought by the reinstatement of
travel permits for Mainland residents to Macao, to unfold
an array of online and offline promotions tailored for the
Mainland.
